Kalgoorlie.info knowledge base
Practical notes for posting Marketplace listings, managing Directory business profiles, claiming a business and keeping your account secure.
The Directory is for local businesses, trades, services and places that people may need again later. A plumber, mechanic, accommodation provider, cafe, real estate office or tour operator belongs in the Directory rather than as a short Marketplace post.
Open the Directory and choose Add business. If you are not signed in, you will be sent to login first and then returned to the Directory form. Choose the category, add clear contact details and describe what the business does. The listing is held for review before publication.
Open My directory listings from the Directory user menu. Edits go back to pending review so old public details are not silently replaced with unverified changes.
Admin-created listings show Claim business. Use it if you own, manage or are authorised to update that business. Add a short note explaining your connection. Kalgoorlie.info reviews the claim before assigning the listing to your account.
Badges make a Directory profile easier to understand at a glance. They show whether a listing has an approved owner or whether a business has publicly promoted Kalgoorlie.info with a verified social linkback.
This badge appears after Kalgoorlie.info approves a business claim and assigns the Directory profile to a user account. It tells readers that the profile has an approved person behind it who can submit updates for review.
This badge is for businesses or promoters who advertise or share Kalgoorlie.info on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or another public channel with a checked link back to Kalgoorlie.info. Admin must verify the proof URL before the badge appears.
Badges help listings stand out, build reader confidence, show local involvement, and give businesses a clearer reason to share their Kalgoorlie.info profile. They do not guarantee ranking, endorsement, quality, licences or availability.
Claim your Directory listing first. For the promoter badge, send the public social post or profile URL that links back to Kalgoorlie.info through the contact form or partner page. Kalgoorlie.info reviews the link before enabling the badge.
Use a plain title that names the item or need. "Wanted: small fridge" is better than "Please help".
Add condition, size, age, faults, pickup suburb, payment expectations and anything a buyer would ask before arranging a time.
You can enter a number, choose a price option, or use the price note for words such as "free", "negotiable" or "swap only". Be clear before meeting.
Yes. Save as draft if you want to finish later. Drafts are visible from your account page, not to the public.
Yes, if the listing is lawful and local. Add licence, insurance or qualification details where they matter.
You can add up to three images. Each image must be JPG, PNG or WebP and no larger than 3 MB. Images are resized after upload so the longest side is no more than 900 px.
Use the contact form on a listing to message the seller. Your reply is sent by email. If the seller has allowed phone contact, their phone can appear on the reply page.
Email sign-in has two steps: your password, then a six-digit code sent to your account email. The code expires after 20 minutes. If someone knows your password but cannot access your email, they should not be able to finish sign-in.
Never give a sign-in code, password reset link or verification code to a buyer, seller, courier, caller or anyone claiming to be support. Kalgoorlie.info will not ask you to read a code back to prove who you are.
Password reset links are sent to the account email, expire after a limited time, and are cleared after use. If you did not request a reset, ignore the email and contact support if you see other suspicious activity.
Business profiles can affect customers, phone calls, bookings and reputation. Claim requests are reviewed so one user cannot take over a business listing simply by clicking a button.
Login attempts, code resends, password resets, Directory submissions and claim requests are rate-limited. Public changes are moderated. Admin actions and important account events are logged so suspicious activity can be checked later.
